Hope for Paws is a 501 C-3 non-profit animal rescue group, based in Los Angeles, California that has given homeless and injured animals a brand new life. Founded by Eldad and Audrey Hagar, this all-animal rescue organization rescues suffering animals that are facing death or extreme danger. This organization pays for all medical costs, and works in tandem with other animal organizations to rescue and foster abused and suffering animals, and eventually find them permanent loving homes once healed.
Since 2008, Eldad and Audrey have been running this two-person non-profit animal-rescue organization, full-time.[1] During its early years, Hope for Paws started operating low key on the streets but quickly gained a number of loyal followers and supporters around the world when Eldad posted a 3-minute, 41-second YouTube video of a blind dog named Fiona.[2]
One of the Hagars' most effective ways of raising awareness is filming their rescue missions and sharing the incredible transformations the sick animals made after being cared for.[3] The videos have proven to be a powerful tool for getting donations and driving awareness about Hope for Paws.[4]
Hope for Paws and Fiona have appeared on Anderson Cooper's with co-host Kristin Chenoweth.[5] Celebrity host Ellen DeGeneres has tweeted about Miley, a malnourished stray that had been barely surviving in a trash heap and had severe mange, parasites and a bacterial infection.[6]
