HomeOS is the working title of a home automation operating system under development by Microsoft Research.[1][2] Microsoft Research announced the project in 2010. HomeOs is an operating system used by all the devices in the home. This system is very useful to sync files, photos and documents with the devices present in the house through a cloud. HomeOS is good to connect different types of technologies (like iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Windows Phone, LG), but it is a limit for the users because they can't choose the most suitable OS for their devices.

HomeOS communicates with Microsoft's cloud-based Lab of Things infrastructure.[3][4][5]
