Holy Trinity Richmond is an Anglican parish church in Sheen Park, Richmond, London.
History
The church, which is of plain Gothic style and faced with Kentish Ragstone with Bath Stone dressings,[1] was built in 1870; the architect was Raphael Brandon.[2] A tower by Charles Lock Luck (1833/34–90), dating from 1880, was removed in about 1970 [2] for safety reasons.[1]
In the early 1950s a brick-faced halls complex was built on the Sheen Park side of the church.[1] This was replaced in 1992.[1]
Services and activities
The church holds services, with songs and modern music, on Sunday mornings. Programmes for children and young people run alongside those for adults.[3]
A midweek service is held on Wednesday mornings. It follows Common Worship (the new Anglican liturgy) and alternates between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion.[4]
Collide, the Church's group for 11–18 year olds, meets fortnightly on Saturday evenings.[5] GEMS, the Church's playgroup for pre-school children and parents/carers, meets every Monday morning during term time.[6] Glow, a club for children in school years 4, 5 and 6, is run fortnightly on Friday evenings during term time.[7] Age-related children's groups are also held on Sunday mornings.[8]
A weekly women's group, Oasis, meets on Friday mornings.[9]
Holy Trinity Richmond’s football team was formed in September 2011 and plays in Division 3 of the Southern Area Christian Football League (SACFL).[10]
