The Holland Amtrak station is a train station in Holland, Michigan, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The present facility, called the "Louis & Helen Padnos Transportation Center" serves as both an Amtrak station and a central hub Macatawa Area Express (MAX) a bus system that serves Holland and the nearby town of Zeeland. The facility includes a ticket machine and a waiting room.

The depot building is a renovated 1926 structure, built by the Pere Marquette Railroad, under the direction of local station agent Edward Belden Rich who lobbied the line for a new structure since his arrival in Holland in 1909. Rich served the Pere Marquette Line in Holland from 1909 until his retirement in 1936. Renovations were completed in 1991. Rich's great grandson Craig R. Rich, a city council member from 1982-2009, served on the renovation committee and emceed the dedication ceremony.

Transit Connections

Riders can transfer between Amtrak trains and all of the MAX system routes. Route 8 connects riders to Zeeland - the rest extend to various destinations throughout Holland. Under the current Pere Marquette schedule, weekday Chicago-bound riders can transfer from all bus routes to the train. Riders going to Grand Rapids can connect to the train using Route 9 (the Twilight Route), the only route that operates when the train arrives at the station at 9:20 PM. But because the last Twilight Route bus leaves the station at 9:00 PM, riders taking the Grand Rapids-bound train to Holland can't take advantage of this connection.
