"Holla" is the debut single of the South Korean girl group EXID. The song was released as a digital single on February 16, 2012 through AB Entertainment and it include two songs, "Whoz That Girl", used as the promotional song, and "I Do". Both songs were written and produced by Shinsadong Tiger, the same producer which created the girl group.
Release
A video teaser for the song was first released on February 9, 2012 hinting the instrumental sound of the song. The audio that was used in the video teaser wasn't a part of the song. The first teaser was built focusing on Junghwa's dancing abilities. A second video teaser for the song was released four days later, on February 13, 2012. In this video teaser all members are present. They undertook to destroying a dummy and towards the end of the video they are harassing a guy, one of the video's leading actor. The music video was released the day after, on February 14, and it was built on a cool inspired theme focusing on leading actor's dates with different girls, and EXID members make him crazy with their spites, ruining all his dates.
Promotions
"Whoz That Girl" was performed on various live television music shows as well as most of EXID's present and future live television show appearances. EXID had their comeback stage on M! Countdown on February 16, 2012 and they also held a special stage performing "Shock", Beast's song. The group also performed "Whoz That Girl" on various music shows such as Music Bank, Show! Music Core and Inkigayo in February and March 2012. EXID also performed the song on various international television appearances.
Chart performance
In South Korea, "Whoz That Girl" entered the Gaon Single Charts at number 40 during the week of February 12, 2012. The following week, "Whoz That Girl" jumped four spots and peaked at number 36 during its chart run. The song continued its success and stayed in the top 50 for another 2 weeks, spending a total of 8 weeks in the Top 100. By the end of February, "Whoz That Girl" was the number 54 song on Gaon's Monthly Single Chart, with 349,313 downloads sold. According to Gaon Chart, "Whoz That Girl" has sold nearly 1 million digital downloads in South Korea as of December 31, 2012.
