"Hold On" is a song recorded by American vocal group Wilson Phillips. It was released in February 1990 as the lead single from their album, Wilson Phillips. The song won the Billboard Music Award for Hot 100 Single of the Year for 1990. At the Grammy Awards of 1991, the song received a nomination for Song of the Year, losing to "From a Distance" by Julie Gold and performed by Bette Midler.[1]

Chart performance
"Hold On" became Wilson Phillips' first number one single, reaching the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 on June 9, 1990 and, despite spending only one week at #1, was ranked the top song of the year by Billboard. (The second and final concurrence of this to date, and first since Stranger on the Shore by 'Mr.' Acker Bilk in 1961) The song also spent a week atop the adult contemporary chart that same year. In addition, "Hold On" peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

- The song "Eternal Wind" from the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam F91 uses some of its music.
- In the 2004 comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, the titular duo sing along to this song while driving to White Castle.[13][14]
- A cover of this song is performed in the talent show finale scene of the 2009 comedy Spring Breakdown.[15]
- On October 3, 2011, Chynna Phillips danced to "Hold On" on Dancing with the Stars.
- "Hold On" is covered by Sugar & Spice in the book series Sugar & Spice.
- On an episode of the Fox animated sitcom, Napoleon Dynamite, the liger farmers and Napoleon sing this song.
- In the 2009 film Whip It, Razor arrives at Roller Derby tryouts with this song playing on his car's sound system.
- In 2012, the drag queens Willam Belli, Detox, and Vicky Vox released a parody version of the song called "Chow Down" that addressed the Chick-fil-A same-sex marriage controversy.[16]
- The song was performed by the group during the finale of the 2011 film Bridesmaids.[17]
- The song is sung in the episode "Trio" from Glee
