History of A.S. Viterbese Calcio

The history of Associazione Sportiva Viterbese Calcio or simply Viterbese started in 1909 when it was founded. It was an Italian association football club, based in Viterbo, Lazio. Viterbese is currently defunct.

From 1909 to 2013

The club was founded in 1909 and refounded in 2004 as A.S. Viterbo Calcio, but returned to the original name during the summer 2006. The nickname was Leoni (Lions).

Liquidation

In summer 2013 the club wasn't able to enter 2013-14 Serie D and was so subsequently liquidated.

In the summer 2013 the President Piero Camilli of A.D.C. Castrense moved the sport title of the club from Grotte di Castro to Viterbo which was refounded A.D.C. Viterbese Castrense. The club restarted from Eccellenza Lazio was promoted to Serie D in the 2013-14 season.[1]

The team's colors are yellow and blue.[2]

Stadium

It plays at the Stadio Enrico Rocchi, in Viterbo, Italy, with capacity of 6,000 places.
