The spread of Hinduism in Ireland is increasing. The 2011 Irish Census reported 10,688 Hindu residents in Ireland, more than three times the number in 2002 (when 3,099 Hindus were recorded).[1] In the 2011 Census, it showed that the number of Hindus surpassed those who were Methodist(6842, down 5318).[2] Hinduism also surpassed Buddhism(8703, up 2187), thus making it the 8th largest religion in Ireland(excluding no religion/not stated).[3]
