The Himalayan flameback (Dinopium shorii), also known as the Himalayan goldenback, is a species of bird in the Picidae family.

Distribution and habitat

It is found in the Indian subcontinent, primarily in the lower-to-middle altitudes of the Himalayas. It ranges across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, and Nepal. A disjunct population occurs in the southern Eastern Ghats.[2] Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
