History

On May 19, 2008 a natural gas leak caused an explosion that injured 14 construction workers and damaged four floors on the unfinished hotel.[4]

Design

The 30-story tower hotel features 1,190 guest rooms and more than 165,000 square feet (15,300 m2) of meeting space,[5] making it the hotel with the highest ratio of meeting space to hotel rooms in the downtown area.[6] A skybridge connects the parking garage to a crosswalk that goes to Petco Park and the Gaslamp Quarter.
