Highasakite is a Norwegian indie pop band consisting of Ingrid Helene Håvik (on vocals), Trond Bersu (drums), Øystein Skar (synths), Marte Eberson (synths) and Kristoffer Lo (guitar, percussion and flugabone). Håvik writes most of the lyrics and music.[1]

Biography

Highasakite started out opening for other musical projects like Your Headlights Are On, PELbO and Sacred Harp.[1] Their debut album, All That Floats Will Rain, was released in Norway in February, 2012 on record label Riot Factory, and produced by Juhani Silvola and Thomas Dahl. The album reached #16 on the Norwegian Albums Chart.

Silent Treatment was released in February 2014 and reached #1 on the Norwegian Albums Chart.[2] It was named the second best album of the year by Norwegian music critics in a list published by Dagsavisen.[3] The group toured extensively this year, mostly in Norway.[2]

Awards

In May 2014 the group was awarded Bendiksenprisen worth 100,000 NOK.[4] In January 2015 'Silent Treatment' received a nomination for IMPALA's European Independent Album of the Year Award.[5] They where allso recipients of the Spellemannprisen 2014 in the category Pop band, for the album Silent Treatment.
