High-speed rail in Iran
High-speed rail in Iran comprises three high-speed rail projects:
- Tehran-Mashhad railway line is on upgrade process to speed up 200 km/h is due to finish by end of 2014. The line stretches 890 km.
- Tehran-Tabriz line is also on upgrade process to minimum speed of 200 km/h. The line stretches 625 km.
- A third line between Tehran and Isfahan also under upgrade process to 200 km/h. The line stretches 460 km. Another feasibility study also going on in the same route to build a dedicated High Speed line for higher speed of 300 km/h.
