Heung Yuen Wai Control Point

Heung Yuen Wai Control Point (Chinese: 香園圍囗岸) is a proposed land border control point at border at Heung Yuen Wai in Hong Kong and Liantang (Chinese: 蓮塘) in China.

The border control point (BCP) is needed to relieve the heavily used points (like Lo Wu Control Point) in the western border area, and is to be built between Lo Wu Control Point and Sha Tau Kok Control Point.[1] In 2008 the plan for the BCP was implemented and it is expected to be completed by 2018.[2] The plan calls for a joint terminal hall that will be built over the Shenzhen River.

Closed Area

Like all other immigration control points located along the land border of Hong Kong, Heung Yuen Wai Control Point will lie within the Closed Area. Vehicles other than taxis require a Closed Road Permit to enter.[3]

Transport

There are no existing roads to the BCP and plans are for a new two-lane access highway to be built from Fanling Expressway, connecting with the Eastern Corridor roadway in China.
