Henry Savile (politician)
Henry Savile (1642 – 6 October 1687) was an English courtier and diplomat who sat in the House of Commons from 1673 to 1679.
Savile was the third son of Sir William Savile, 3rd Baronet and his wife Anne Coventry. His elder brother was George Savile, 1st Marquess of Halifax
Savile was born at Rufford in Nottinghamshire.[1] In 1673 he was elected Member of Parliament for Newark and sat until 1679.[2] In 1680 he was appointed Vice-Chamberlain of the Household. He was subsequently an envoy at Paris, where he died in 1687.
He was a close friend of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester.
