Henry Hugglemonster is an Irish-British animated television series produced by Spiffy Pictures. It is based on the best selling book I'm a Happy Hugglewug written and illustrated by Niamh Sharkey.[1] The series premiered on Disney Junior channels in the United Kingdom and Ireland on February 8, 2013 and in the United States on April 5.[2][3]

Premise

The series revolves around the daily life of Henry Hugglemonster and his slightly chaotic but loving family, living in the suburban town of Roarsville. Everyone in Roarsville is a friendly, fun-loving monster. Henry's experiences with his family often lead to problems, so Henry must use his problem-solving skills to try and find a way to solve the problems and conflicts he is presented with in his daily life. Every episode features one or more original song.

Common Sense Media stated that many of the episodes include "[b]asic preschool skills like counting and sequences".[4]

Summer can't wait until her musical performance, when she'll sing and Momma will play piano as the Huggleflower makes its special sound. But, the show can't begin until the Huggleflower in front of the house blooms. So, the whole family works together to try to get the sun to shine on the Huggleflower.


When Momma says it's Ivor's bedtime, baby Ivor has trouble falling asleep. Henry and Summer must take these matters into their own hands as they perform Ivor's bedtime routine to try and get the little monster to go to sleep.

When big brother Cobby tells Henry that he is too young to help build his spaceship model, Henry decides to play an outer space game with his little brother Ivor instead. After losing his voice while practicing for the "Loudest Roar" in the Roar-Off competition, Henry figures out a way to still participate.

Henry later decides to pay other monsters to test out Cobby's new "Monster Mitt" ride so he can earn money but Cobby insisted that the rides were supposed to be free! What will Cobby think of this?

When Momma and Daddo go out for the night, they leave Cobby in charge of his siblings and his power quickly goes to his head. He eventually creates silly rules that disappoint Summer. But thanks to Henry, Cobby and his friends learn to work as a family.
