Henry Allen (journalist)
Henry Allen is an American journalist, poet, musician, and critic.[1]
Education
Allen obtained his degree in English and art at Hamilton College and Montgomery College.[1]
Career
Allen would perform solo shows in June 2009 at Strathmore Hall and in August 2012 at Chebeague Island Library. He was a stationed in Vietnam as a marine.[1] Allen was a critic in New York Review of Books. As a staff writer, he worked at The Washington Post. He then began teaching courses in cultural analysis in the University of Maryland honors program.[1] He began his painting and drawing in the late 60s.[2]
Awards and honors
He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2000 for his writings in the Washington Post on photography.[3]
