Hellogoodbye is the eponymous debut EP from Hellogoodbye. It was released on August 17, 2004 by Drive-Thru Records. All the vocals and instruments were recorded solely by Forrest Kline, except for the lead vocals on track 4, which were performed by Jesse Kurvink.

On March 18, 2004, shortly after the band got signed to Drive-Thru, the first five tracks were released digitally, as the second of two free downloadable EPs (the first one being Jenoah's Morning Is When Jenoah Wakes Up) on the label's homepage. The Hellogoodbye EP was downloaded about 300,000 times, while the physical release issued half a year later sold over 80,000 copies to date. With the physical release, which featured the sixth track, the download offer was discontinued.

Album Artwork

The CD cover is a spoof on Andy Warhol's album cover for The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967) by The Velvet Underground. Instead of featuring a banana with the words "peel slowly and see", it instead depicts an avocado with the accompanying phrase "mush slowly and guac."
