Hello Singapore (Chinese: 狮城有约) is a news/current affairs programme produced by MediaCorp Channel 8. It is hosted by a rotating team of presenters composed of a news presenter and one from a team of the four hosts consisting of Good Morning Singapore hosts Lim Yi Chyi and Kenneth Kong together with Guo Liang and You Yi. The show, which covers topics from life issues to social news from Singapore also includes exciting lifestyle news and information.[1] The show replaced the current weekday broadcast of Singapore Today as well as half of the 7.00pm drama timeslot, airing weekdays from October 20, 2014, 6.30pm to 7.30pm, live, premiering together with socio-drama 118.[2]

A repeat telecast of "Crosstalks" and the topic of the day will also be available the next weekday, 9.30am to 10.00pm.

Background

The series is a weekday news/current affairs programme that will better reflect the sentiments and concerns of Singaporeans, combining news, current affairs and live discussions. Changes during National Mourning

To respect the passing of the founding father Lee Kuan Yew, who died of pneumonia at 3.18am on 23 March 2015 (Monday), like all other Channel 8 news programmes, the opening sequence has changed. From 23 to 27 March 2015, the opening graphics were toned down and music from the sequence was replaced by melancholic music. The 23 to 26 March episodes were hosted by Lim Yi Chyi and Focus presenter Chun Geuk Lay, while the 27 March episode was hosted by Kenneth Kong and Jeffery Low. There were two or three segments as shown below.
