Helena Gutteridge

Helena Rose Gutteridge (April 8, 1879 – October 3, 1960) was a suffragette, labour activist and the first female elected to city council in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Born in London, England, she founded the BC Women's Suffrage League shortly after her arrival in Vancouver in 1911. She later joined the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and was elected to Vancouver City Council in 1937, serving for one term.
