Hedyotis lawsoniae is a species of flowering plant in the coffee family, endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
varying in size, oval to lanceolate, acute ends.
Trunk
branches supre-axillary; twigs bluntly 4-angled, glabrous, often purplish.
Flowers
white, dimorphic; Inflorescence - numerous, large compound terminal and axillary cymes.
Fruits
ovoid to globose capsule that projects beyond persistent calyx, splitting in two.
Ecology
montane forest understory, gregarious.
Uses
ornamental.
