About

Haydor Pur is a renowned village in Chhatak Thana which is situated in the North-eastern corner of Bangladesh (Bengali: ). It is located in the Sunamgonj District and in the Sylhet division. It is surrounded by the Jhigli, Shonuakai, Sripotipur and Mondolpur.

Infrastructure

Being situated on the North Eastern Corner of the District, road transportation is the main hindrances for the development of the village. There is a street which is used for plying light vehicles during dried season. During rainy season, the road transportation was under blockage. The village was thus completely isolated from the City. Now the Government is constructing road from Koitok to Haydor Pur and may be commissioned within one year if work is taken up within one year if work is taken up continuously. After completion of the road the village would not be hindered. The village is rich in natural beauty. Though electricity is not available at our village but most of the villager’s are using solar plant as alternate. All the pavements are constructed and well-arranged. There have a little canal beside the main road which is used in rainy season though streets remain mud free at that time.

Economy

Agriculture is the main stay and occupation of the villagers. It has been clear that if the government take initiative part and give special attention to this village, they will be able to increase their produce enormously. It would be profitable for the government if proper industries are set up in this village as the climate is ideal for all types of crops, fruits and spices. The government will earn revenue besides the grower gets a huge profit. The surplus produces would be exported to the nearby villages and to the urban too. As so many Sylhetis are resident abroad, Sylhet has a major flow of foreign currency from non-resident Bangladeshis; many families' sole source of income comes from relatives abroad.

Culture

The cultural and social life of the villagers is simple and comfortable. They are contented with what they have. They are energetic and hard working. They love one another and respect superiors.
