Hawaii Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care network of hospitals, clinics, physicians and care providers dedicated to the mission of improving the health and well-being of the people of Hawaii and the Pacific Region.
As the state’s largest health care provider, Hawaii Pacific Health’s network of doctors and specialists provide a distinctive model of coordinated care to treat everything from the common cold to the most complex medical conditions. Its not-for-profit mission means all earnings are reinvested into improving medical equipment and facilities. It also means we invest in research, education and training as well as charity care for underserved people within our island community.

The Hawaii Pacific Health network is anchored by its four hospitals: Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital, and Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

History
Hawaii Pacific Health was formed in December 2001 with the merger of four hospitals: Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center (formerly Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi), Straub Clinic & Hospital, and Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

- Pali Momi Medical Center received HealthGrades Report’s “Outstanding Patient Experience Award” for ranking in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide.
- Pali Momi Medical Center received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines’ Gold Plus Achievement Award” for heart failure care.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital received HealthGrades Report’s “Outstanding Patient Experience Award” for ranking in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide. Straub is a recipient for the third year in a row.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines’ Gold Plus Achievement Award” for heart failure care.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital received the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s “Patriotic Employer Award” for outstanding support and cooperation to its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve units.

- Pali Momi Medical Center received HealthGrades Report’s 2011 Outstanding Patient Experience Award (top 5% of hospitals nationwide). Straub and Pali Momi are the only Hawai‘i facilities to receive the 2011 award.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” 2011 Gold Plus Achievement Award for Heart Failure Care.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital received the HealthGrades Report’s 2011 Outstanding Patient Experience Award (Top 10% of hospitals nationwide). Straub is the only facility in Hawai‘i to win the award two years in a row (2010 and 2011).
- Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children received the American College of Surgeons’ 2011 New Program Outstanding Achievement Award for its cancer program.
- Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children received the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and the International Lactation Consultant Association’s IBCLC Breastfeeding Care Award.
- Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children received the American College of Radiology’s Breast MRI Accreditation (the first facility in Hawai‘i to earn it).
- Wilcox Health received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” 2011 Gold Achievement Award for Heart Failure Care.
- Wilcox Health received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” 2011 Silver Achievement Award for Stroke Care.

This national award, given to only one of the company’s many health care clients, recognized Hawaii Pacific Health for making needed changes in health care and achieving progressive successes toward excellence in quality and service.
2009 Quality Awards
- Kapiolani Women’s Centers were awarded the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (doctors who specialize in mammography and breast diagnostics), placing Kapi‘olani in the top 5% nationally.
- Pali Momi was awarded the 2009 American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” Coronary Artery Disease Gold Performance Achievement Award and Heart Failure Silver Performance Achievement Award.
- Straub Clinic & Hospital was awarded the 2009 American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” Coronary Artery Disease Gold Performance Achievement Award and the 2009 National Organ Donation Silver Recognition Award, becoming the only hospital in Hawaii to receive that recognition.
- Wilcox Memorial Hospital was awarded the 2009 American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” Coronary Artery Disease Gold Performance Achievement Award, Heart Failure Silver Performance Achievement Award, and Stroke Silver Performance Achievement Award.
