Hatuniye Mesresseh (Turkish: Hatuniye Medresesi), is a historical madrasa in Tokat, Turkey, built in 1485 by Bayezid II to commemorate his mother, Gülbahar Hatun. The madrasa is located in the neighborhood Hatuniye, hence the name. It has been restored and currently open to visitors.
History
Ottoman Sultan Murad I (Murat Hüdavendigar)'s daughter, Karamanoğlu Alaattin Bey's wife Nefise Sultan was built in 1382. The architect of the Hatuniye Medresseh Numan bin Ahmet Hodja.
Madrasah is made of cut stone and rubble stone. 1939 Erzincan earthquake and 1942 Niksar-Erbaa earthquake damaged,[2] destroyed in the earthquake, in 1953 and was restored in 1955.[3]
