History
The first company in the Hatteland Group, Jakob Hatteland Electronics A/S (JHE), was founded by Jakob Hatteland in 1971 as a distributor of electronic components. Throughout the early 1990s JHE grew in the Nordic countries and East Europe with offices set up in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the Baltic states. In 2000 JHE was acquired by Arrow Electronics.[2]
During the years with JHE the Hatteland Group created and developed its own enterprise resource planning system which developed into the product RamBase. In 1995 Jakob Hatteland Computer A/S (JHC) was founded and took over the development of Rambase, and then in 2005 the company launched the RamBase Internet Client, a complete business system for Customer Relationship Management, Material Requirements Planning, and Enterprise Resource Planning.
By 1995 the distribution of electronics required big conventional warehouses so to increase the storage space and efficiency without creating new or extending old warehouses the technical director of JHC, Ingvar Hognaland, invented and started to develop the AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system. In 2013 AutoStore is distributed by several partners all over the world.[3]
