Harry Slater was a rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s and '10s playing club level rugby union (RU) for Wakefield Balne Lane RFC (the team was runner-up in rugby union's Yorkshire Cup in both 1905 (against Harrogate RUFC) and 1906 (against Castleford RUFC)), and playing club level rugby league (RL) for Wakefield Trinity (Captain) (Heritage #143), as a Stand-off/Five-eighth, i.e. number 6.[1]
Playing career
Challenge Cup final appearances
Harry Slater played Stand-off/Five-eighth, and was Captain in Wakefield Trinity's 17−0 victory over Hull in the 1908–09 Challenge Cup final at Headingley Stadium on Tuesday 20 April 1909.[2]

William Simpson played Scrum-half/Halfback in Wakefield Trinity's 20-13 victory over Australia in the 1908–09 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain match at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 19 December 1908.
