Harry P. Guy

Harry P. Guy (1870 in Zanesville, Ohio – 1950) was a ragtime composer who lived in Detroit after 1895.^[1] He became one of the greatest contributors to ragtime music in Detroit^[2] and was called one of the city's "unique and unusually gifted musicians." Although his first compositions came when he was a young man living in Ohio so that state claimed him as well.^[3] He later fell into obscurity and died in poverty.
