Harrah's Resort Southern California, formerly known as Harrah's Rincon, is a casino and hotel located north of San Diego, California a 20 minute drive from I-15 in Valley Center.
Facilities
The hotel has 3 towers. Dive Inn (formally known as Garden Tower opened in 2002 renovated 2004), Resort Tower South (formally known as Spa Tower opened in 2004) and Resort Tower North (opened in 2014) There is 662 rooms in the Resort Tower South and Dive Inn and there is 403 rooms in the Resort Tower North. The casino consists of 1600 slot machines and 51 tables, including eight poker tables. The hotel includes a pool-side blackjack pit, a 500-square-foot (46 m2) octagon of white sand shaded by a canvas pergola, and three blackjack tables. Architect for this casino was Steelman Partners of Las Vegas, NV providing interior design and lighting design. [3] The resort also includes a spa and nearby the Woods Valley Golf Club. The Resort Tower South includes non smoking and smoking rooms with rooms that are classified as deluxe, La Jolla suite, Coranado suite, Catalina suite. Dive Inn includes non smoking and smoking rooms with rooms that are classified as Premium (Parking view) Luxury (Pool view), Palomar Suite, Laguna and Malibu suites which includes a private small heated pool outside the room.
Expansion
On November 1, 2012, construction began on a $160 Million dollar expansion that includes a new 403-room hotel tower and a 23,000 square foot convention center which can be converted to be used for meetings, concerts etc. The project also consists of an expansion of the pool that will include a "lazy river", a food court which consists of Earl of Sandwich and the reopening of Pink's, Starbucks, Corked, Spiked, a swim-up bar and an indoor/outdoor Mexican restaurant. The lazy river, swim up bar and pool restaurant was completed during the summer of 2013, while the convention center and the bar Corked was completed in December of 2013. Starbucks was opened in the first few months of 2014. The new hotel tower was partially opened in March and was fully opened in April of 2014, bringing the resort's total room count to 1,065, making it the largest Indian casino resort in terms of rooms in California. The lobby bar Spiked and the food court was also opened in April. The entire project was completed April 18, 2014[4] At this time, the resort was renamed Harrah's Resort Southern California.[5] as well as the towers were renamed to match the new hotel tower's name.
