Harold Salt was a footballer who played in the Football League for Brighton & Hove Albion, Port Vale, Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Walsall.[1] He also played non-league football for Mexborough Town, Peterborough & Fletton United, Grays Thurrock and Yeovil & Petters United.[1]

Career

Salt played for Brighton & Hove Albion, Mexborough Town, and Peterborough & Fletton United. He signed for Port Vale in December 1925, making his debut at outside left in a 1–0 defeat to Derby County on Christmas Day of 1925.[2] However he failed to gain a regular place in the squad and played just five Second Division games and one FA Cup game in the 1925–26 season, being released from The Old Recreation Ground in the summer of 1926.[2] He went on to play for Queens Park Rangers, Grays Thurrock, Crystal Palace[3][4] and then Brentford.[1] Salt made 84 appearances for the "Bees" between 1929 and 1932, helping the club to finish second in the Third Division South in 1929–30.[5] He later played for Walsall and Yeovil & Petters United.
