Harmen Fraanje (born in 1976 in Roosendaal, Netherlands) is a Dutch jazz pianist and composer. He currently lives in Amsterdam.[1]

Career

Fraanje has played in solo, duo, trio, quartet and quintet jazz constallations, as a leader or as a guest member. He also played with many artists from different nationalities and backgrounds, as Senegalese singer and percussionist Mola Sylla, the Cameroonian singer Ntjamrosie, cellist Ernst Reijseger and Mats Eilertsen.

The album Sonatala was included in the Real Book of 2005, published by Sheer Music.[2]

Fraanje collaborates in other projects and bands such as Fugimundi, a trio with Eric Vloeimans and Anton Goudsmit, Lievestro 6, the Michael Moore Quartet, Oxymoron and the ensemble of the Brazilian guitarist Nelson Veras.

He also plays with musicians and bands like Mark Turner, Magic Malik, Kenny Wheeler, Jeff Ballard, Ali Jackson, Philip Catherine, Tony Malaby, Elvin Jones, Hein van de Geyn, Metropole Orchestra, Zapp String Quartet, Mats Eilertsen, Toma Gouband Cristina Branco, Brice Soniano, Stéphane Galland Stéphane Galland, Rick Margitza, Jesse van ruller, Reggie Washington, Benjamin Herman, Toots Thielemans, John Ruocco Han Bennink, Anton Goudsmit, Jasper Blom, Bert Joris, Jimmy Haslip, John Engels, the Dutch Jazzorchestra Concertgebouw, Nils Ostendorf, Martin France, Dré Pallemaerts Guillaume Orti, Michael Vatcher, Guilhem Orchard, Bert van den Brink, Thomas Stronen Oliver Steidle, Wogram Nils Fredrik Ljungkvist.[1]
