Harishchandrapur I (community development block) is an administrative division in Chanchal subdivision of Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Harishchandrapur police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Harishchandrapur.[1]

Harishchandrapur is located at 25°25′N 87°53′E / 25.42°N 87.88°E.
Harishchandrapur I community development block has an area of 171.40 km2.[2]

Demographics
As per 2001 census, Harishchandrapur I block has a total population of 162,369 out of which 83,122 were males and 79,247 were females. Harishchandrapur I block registered a population growth of 25.06 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade.[4] Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[5]
