Happy Happy Clover (はぴはぴクローバー Hapi Hapi Kurōbā) is a shōjo manga series created and illustrated by Tatsuyama Sayuri, serialized in Shogakukan's shōjo magazine Ciao in August 2005 to November 2008. Five tankōbon volumes were serialized in April 2006 to November 2008. An anime adaptation by Group TAC officially aired on TV Aichi from July 6, 2007 to 28 September 2007, adapting some of the chapters of the manga series. Viz Media currently holds the license for the manga series.
Summary
Clover is a rabbit living in Crescent Forest with her friends Kale and Shallot. One day when Clover is late for school, Kale makes fun of her for being late. The same day, Professor Hoot announces the arrival of a new student: Mallow. The four bunnies travel all over Crescent Forest getting into (and out of) trouble.

Main characters
- Chima (ちま Chima) / Clover
- Voiced by: Sayaka Narita
- Chima (Clover in the English version) is the main heroine of the Manga. A white rabbit with a heart-shaped puff of fur at her neckline and purple eyes, she wears a clover next to her left ear. Clover is a lively, happy bunny, who sometimes gets into trouble, dragging her friends along. She isn't very responsible sometimes. In the end of the series, Clover goes traveling with Tabi-Usagi San.
- Meru (メル Meru) / Mallow/Melon
- Voiced by: Tae Okajima
- Meru (Mallow in the English version) is Clover's best friend, a light pink rabbit, with dark pink markings on her right eye, all the way down to her right ear. With brown eyes and a big heart, Haru fell in love with her. She's calm, sweet, kind, and extremely intelligent. In the epilogue she ends up marrying Haru.
- Gaku (ガク Gaku) / Kale
- Voiced by: Yumiko Kobayashi
- Gaku (Kale in the English version) is one of Clover's friends, a strong brown hare with amazing green eyes. The oldest of the seven bunny siblings, he has to help his parents take care of them. He's friendly and loyal, but a little mysterious. He secretly has a crush on Thistle and sticks up for his friend Shallot. In the end, he marries Thistle and they have a son named Chard.
- Haru (ハル Haru) / Shallot
- Voiced by: Akeno Watanabe
- Haru (Shallot in the English version) is also one of Clover's friends, a yellowish-orange rabbit with glasses. He is extremely smart and always seen with a book. Clover calls him a nerd; in other words, a bookworm. He has a secret side, which isn't all about knowledge and books. He supports his best friend Kale and has a crush on Mallow. In the end of the series, he gets married to Mallow and has a daughter named Yarrow and a son named Bergamot.
- Tabi-Usagi San (旅うさぎさん Tabi-usagi san) / Rambler/Bramble
- Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu
- Clover's crush, Tabi-Usagi San (known as Rambler in the English version) is a male rabbit that travels to different forests all the time, and tells the other animals stories about his adventures. He is quite a bit older than all the other rabbits and may have a crush on clover. clover is supposed to adventure with him when she gets older, but he always refuses. His past is very painful to him when he was young. He played hooky outside his forest until he witnessed his own home being destroyed by humans, who tried top claim it. Since then, he has been traveling ever since. In the manga's epilogue, he is now traveling with Clover.
- Professor Hoot (ホッホー先生 Hohhō sensei) / Professor Hoot
- Voiced by: Chō
- Professor Hoot is the teacher of the kids in the Crescent Moon Forest. A brown-horned owl who is Gruff, but secretly nice. Known for his dreaded invitations to his home, which usually includes bitter health tea which all his students hate, and his long stories about his youth.
- Hirari (ひらりさん Hirari-san) / Hickory
- Voiced by: Rumi Shishido
- Hirari (Hickory in the English version) is Clover's babysitter, a flying squirrel. Calm, cool, collected, and nice to everyone, he is also afraid of spiders and eats a lot when he sees one. He dislikes Yum Yum Mushrooms because they make him sneeze.
Minor characters
- Tip, Top, Tap, Flip, Flop, and Flap: Kale's sextuplet younger brothers. They get along really well with Kale, and all have a huge crush on Mallow and all want to marry her.
- Cinnamon: One of the forest's biggest pranksters, a fox, who cannot be trusted.
- Twirl: Cinnamon's sidekick, a chipmunk.The founder of the Mallow Fan club and has a mega crush on Mallow (Shallot's love enemy).
- Luna: A violinist who ran away from his traveling band. He has a crush on Clover and Rambler may be jealous.
- Clover's parents: Her father is a meteorologist, and her mother is the meteorologist's fan. The father always wants to know what weather it will be. Clover thinks it is just a silly idea but her mother disagrees. She will support him no matter what.
- Mallow's parents: Her father is a maker of furniture and it is unknown what job her mother has.
- Kale's parents: Parents of Kale and the sextuplets (the dad laughs a lot and the mom is very caring)
- Shallot's parents: Shallot's parents look exactly like shallot (so does his whole family).
- Nutmeg: Cinnamon's sister and a fortune teller (mostly accurate with fortunes, but Clover and Rambler overturn her predictions)
- Blackberry: A bear. (His mother works with honey).
- Forsythia: A deer who has a crush on Kale and once had a fight with Carrot over him.
- Mr Mole: A mole who dislikes it when other animals talk about digging.
- Carrot: Mr. Mole's daughter, who has a crush on Kale.
- Thistle: A rabbit who toward the end of the manga developed a crush on Kale. They eventually got married and had a son named Chard.
- Bulbull Brothers: A pair of 'rapping birds' who love rapping out the things they say.
- Pecan: a flying squirrel and Hickory's twin brother. Looks very mischievous, but deep down has a soft heart.
- Mr Falcon: Falcon who delivers mail to Sunny Meadow forest and Crescent forest.
Manga
The manga was originally created by Tatsuyama Sayuri. It was first serialized in the August 2005 issue of Ciao and later collected in five tankōbon volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in 2009 and all 5 volumes were being released in English.

Anime
An Anime adaptation was aired from July 6, 2007 to September 28, 2007 on Kids Station and TV Aichi in Japan. It was directed by Kazumi Nonaka and the anime only adapts the first 3 volumes of the Manga, only lasting for 13 episodes. The chapters from Volumes 4 and 5 are not present in the series.
