Hans Raj College (Hindi: हंस राज कॉलेज) is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, in New Delhi, India. The college offers studies in Science, Liberal Arts and Commerce. Since its foundation in the year 1948, the college has produced a long and notable list of alumni which are prominent leaders in their respective fields both nationally and internationally.

History

Hans Raj College was founded by the D.A.V College Managing Committee on July 26, 1948 in the memory of the prominent Indian educator and nationalist Mahatama Hans Raj. Started as an institution for men, the college became co-educational in the year 1978. As of today it is one of the largest institutions of D.A.V group which runs and manages over 700 institutions all over India. With a strength of over 5000 students, it is also one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. [3] For past many years Hans Raj College has been constantly ranked among the Top-10 colleges of India in all three disciplines.[4][5][6]
