Hans Michael Jebsen
Hans Michael Jebsen (Chinese: 捷成汉, born 15 November 1956) is a Danish-born business executive, resident in Hong Kong since 1981. [1]
Besides being the Chairman and main shareholder of the Jebsen Group since 2000, he is a board member of Hysan Development and The Wharf (Holdings) in Hong Kong, as well as Danfoss in Denmark. He is a director at Singapore-based Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) of the Jebsen and Jessen Family Enterprise worldwide.[2]
He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2008, the Order of the Dannebrog, Denmark in 2006 and earlier in 2001, the Bronze Bauhinia Star of the Hong Kong SAR.[2]
Since 2005, he has been a member of the Political Consultative Committee and Municipal Economic Advisor of Jilin, China, and an honorary citizen of the city.[3] He is an Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,[4] a member of the Hong Kong European Union Business Co-operation Committee for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Council for Sustainable Development and since January 2009 a member of the Advisory Council on the Environment, the Government of the HKSAR.[2]
Hans Michael Jebsen is also active in various NGO capacities. He is Chairman of Friends' Committee of Asian Cultural Council in Hong Kong, Vice President and trustee of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Hong Kong as well as a member of the Advisory Board of Hong Kong Red Cross.[2] He helped establish the Jebsen Educational Foundation,[5] and serves on the Corporate Advisory Board of School of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.[6]
He studied Economics and Business Administration at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.[2] He is married to Désirée Jebsen and they have five children.[7]
