Hands up punishment

The hands up punishment is a form of punishment given in schools of Indian subcontinent, specially in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In this punishment, one has to raise his or her hands above head and stay for a period of time in this stress position. It is a common punishment in schools.[1]

The hands up position becomes very painful within ten or fifteen minutes. While in the position, the children are not allowed to join hands over their heads.
