Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, better known by her stage name Halsey, is a female music artist from Washington, New Jersey. She is biracial, with an African-American father and white mother.[1]

Halsey released an EP titled Room 93 in 2014, when she signed to Astralwerks.[2] Halsey has been featured in a few interviews and performances, on TV and online, such as "Kids Interview Bands",[3] Vevo DSCVR,[4] Live On SiriusXM,[5] and Last Call with Carson Daly.[6][7] Billboard featured her music video for her song "Hurricane" on their website.[8] Also given an interview talking about her songwriting at SXSW on Fuse.

At South by Southwest (SXSW) in 2015, Halsey was the most talked about person online.[9]

Recently, she produced a tribute to Jaden Smith with her Norwegian boyfriend, Lido (Peder Losnegård).[10] Halsey toured with The Kooks in 2014[11] and is traveling across the US for her American Youth Tour, along with musical artist friends Young Rising Sons, and OLIVVER. On this tour, she has been singing songs from the EP, and singing new songs: "Colors", "Control", "Castle", "Haunting" and "Roman Holiday". Halsey stated in Teen Vogue, that her upcoming album will be a "angry feminist record". She is planning to release her first full album, Badlands, in August 2015.[12]
