Haldibari (community development block) is an administrative division in Mekhliganj subdivision of Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Haldibari police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Haldibari.[1][2]

Haldibari is located at 26°20′N 88°46′E / 26.33°N 88.77°E.

Haldibari community development block has an area of 149.48  km2.[2]

Gram panchayats

Gram panchayats of Haldibari block/ panchayat samiti are: Baxiganj, Daxin Bara Haldibari, Dewanganj, Hemkumari, Per Mekhliganj and Uttar Bara Haldibari.[3]

Demographics

As per 2001 census, Haldibari block had a total population of 93,836, out of which 48,466 were males and 45,370 were females. Haldibari block registered a population growth of 19.67 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade. Decadal growth for the district was 14.15 per cent.[2] Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[4]

Literacy

Haldibari block had a literacy rate of 61.54 per cent - males 72.72 per cent and females 49.44 per cent.[3]
