Parliamentary elections will be held in Haiti on 9 August 2015.[1] Two-thirds of the Senate and all members of the Chamber of Deputies are up for election.
Electoral system
The 99 members of the Chamber of Deputies are elected in single-member constituencies using the two-round system; a second round will be held if no candidate wins a majority of the vote in the first round.[2]
One-third of the 30-member Senate is elected every two years, also using the two-round system.[3] However, the previous scheduled Senate elections in May 2012 were not held, meaning two-thirds of the seats are due for elections in 2015.[1]
