Haidergarh is a town and a nagar panchayat in Barabanki district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Haidergarh had a population of 14,043. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Haidergarh has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 51%. In Haidergarh, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education

Haidergarh at present is having one Post Graduate College named as Gramyanchal Vidyalaya, 2 Intermediate Colleges viz Sarvajankik Vidyala and Rashtriya Vidyalaya, 1 Girls InterCollege. Since it is cattering the needs of people north of Gomati River, the infrastructure is not enough.

Location

The town Haidergarh is located on Lucknow-Varanasi Highway(NH-56). It is situated about 55 km from Lucknow and is well connected by rail and road network. Haidergarh is accessible from Faizabad(80 km), Varanasi(225 km), Rai Bareli(60 km) too.

Temples

A temple of Lord Shiva named 'Avasaneshwar Mahadev' is situated on the bank of river Gomti. A foreign invader is said to have attache on temple to damage the Shiv Lingam, but he was driven out by the stings of the bees and insects. Till few years back, the Temple was in very bad shape but recent efforts have changed it in a beautiful and graceful Temple.

Industries

Industrial pursuit of Haidergarh comprises a sugar mill in village Pokhra. Mill also has its power plant of capacity of 2MW. Education sector in the town is rapiply expanding in Haidergarh tehsil. Tehsil has 4 institution for higher education viz, Gramyanchal Vidyalaya, Baijnath Sivkala Mahavidyalaya,Sarswati Vidya Mandir, Malka Degree College and Lal Bahadur Ganga Devi Mahavidyalaya. Rising institution of the town in primary education is Kids Galaxy School.
