Hackney South by-election, 1922
The Hackney South by-election of 1922 was held on 18 August 1922. The by-election was held due to the expulsion from the House of Commons of the incumbent Independent MP, Horatio Bottomley. It was won by the Coalition Conservative candidate Clifford Erskine-Bolst.[1]

Although elected a member of the 31st parliament, Erskine-Bolst was unable to take his seat as the House had adjourned, and did not meet again prior to dissolution.
