Habib Khabiri was an Iranian footballer. Made captain of the Iran national football team in 1980, he was arrested for membership of the banned People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran in 1983, tortured, and executed by shooting the following year.[1][2][3] His brother, Mohammad, was also an Iranian international and vice-president of the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran.[4]
