HTML2PDF-X (Initialism for HyperText Markup Language to Portable Document Format ActiveX) is a proprietary software library for PDF generation and for conversion from HTML documents to PDF files. The library is developed by Two Pilots, a small company located in Moscow, Russia.
History
HTML2PDF-X 1.0 (originally HTML2PDF Add-on for PDF Creator Pilot library) was released in January 2005. The library used Trident rendering engine for HTML layout purposes and PDF Creator Pilot library as a PDF creation mechanism.[1]
Since release of version 5.0, in March 2012, the library uses Qt's port of WebKit rendering engine[2] and is independent of PDF Creator Pilot PDF generating library.
With release of version 5.2, in June 2012, the library was expanded by drawing methods and use of JavaScript.[3]
