HM Prison Wrexham

HM Prison Wrexham is a planned £212 million Category C men's prison which is being built in Wrexham County Borough, Wales.^[1]

The 2,100 capacity prison is due to open in 2017 and will be located at the Wrexham Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Wrexham. It will be operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service^[2] although 34% of services will be outsourced.^[3] It is hoped that 1,000 jobs will be created upon opening.^[4]
