HMS Brilliant was one of the three 36-gun Venus-class fifth-rate frigates of the Royal Navy. She was launched in 1757 and served until sold in 1776. At the Action of 14 August 1761, Brilliant fought off two French frigates while HMS Bellona captured Courageux.
