HD 103197 is a 9th magnitude K-type main sequence star located approximately 170 light years away[1] in the constellation Centaurus. This star is smaller, cooler, dimmer, and less massive than our Sun. Also its metal content is thirteen-eighths as much as the Sun. In 2009, a gas giant planet was found in orbit around the star.
