Høle is a borough and former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway.
The municipality was separated from Strand as Høgsfjord formannskapsdistrikt in 1842. On 1 January 1871 the district Forsand was divided from Høgsfjord to form a municipality of its own. The remaining part of Høgsfjord changed its name to Høle, and had a population of 1,122.[1]
On 1 January 1965 the district Oltesvik with 37 became a part of the new municipality Gjesdal, whereas the rest of Høle, with 926 inhabitants, was incorporated into the neighboring municipality Sandnes.[1]
The village Høle has a population of 335.[2] Presently, as a borough of Sandnes, Høle is the least populous borough with 965 inhabitants.[3] It is located in the eastern part of the municipality.
