Guy Buttery
Guy Buttery (26 November 1983) is a South African guitar player. Buttery's distinctive acoustic style is influenced by traditional South African instrumentation. Live, he uses an EBow and a looper to create "synth-like textures".[1] He is influenced by such artists as Tony Cox,[2] Brian Eno, and Ralph Towner.[1]
Early Years
Guy Buttery was born in the small coastal town of Umhlanga Rocks in KwaZulu/Natal. He studied Jazz at Kwa-Zulu Natal Technikon and later on at the Durban School of Music, where he studied with Leandros Stavrou.[3]
