Gustaf Heden

Gustaf Bjorn Persson Heden (born 10 May 1985) is a Swedish musician, actor and writer.

Career

2005-2007 Heden was the co-songwriter and front man of the London band The Michelles, playing both lead guitar and bass guitar, with band member Tim Lalonde. The band released their single "Springtime" which was written by Heden on German Record label Kitty-Yo.[1] The track Springtime was also used in the Julie Delpy movie Two Days in Paris[2]"

In 2007 Heden was booked to play Alan McGee's Death Disco, LA, by indie rock n roll actress Joanna Pickering.[3] After which Heden worked on solo material and recorded tracks in Los Angeles with producer Nik Leaman.

In 2009, with Pickering on board as his promoter[4] Heden toured solo shows in London, Paris, Berlin and New York as "Gustaf Heden and The Distracting Noises".[5]

In 2010 Heden debuted his first album with the band Spectorbullets with Russell Burn, ex member of The Fire Engines and WIN. It featured lyrics from, poet and writer, Paul Reekie (1962-2010)[6] and lyrics for the track "Drop" written by Pickering.[7] It was released worldwide by Mayakovsky Produkts, based in Edinburgh, with label bosses Russell Burn and Reekie.[8] The album was reviewed by The Scotsman and Uncut Magazine, both giving it 4 out of 5, as well as critical acclaim from local press. The Scotland on Sunday specifically described Spectorbullets as "the missing link between Syd Barret and The Libertines"[9] The album also received air time on East Village Radio, New York.

In 2010 Heden appeared in independent film, Party On Ice, with actress/model Joanna Pickering, and musician Gustaf Kjellvander (1980-2011)[10] from the band The Fine Art Show Case. It was filmed with award winning Swedish company Conjuntion. Heden's music video to the track "Goldmine" was also produced by Conjunction that year.[11]

In 2011 Heden began recording his solo debut album in Buenos Aires.

In 2012 Heden set up a New York City based band named "The Zen Archers".

In 2013 Spectorbullets released "The Final Ending" on iTunes and for digital distribution featuring lyrics from Joanna Pickering as well as artist/designer Fiona McIntosh.[12]

In 2013 Heden was selected to perform his play "Just One Hundred More" at a non profit organization competition at The Thespis festival, Manhattan, NYC to run through summer.

Personal life

Heden resides in New York City. He is engaged to actress Joanna Pickering.[13]
