Gudipudi is a village in Sattenapalli mandal in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh state of India.

History

Gudipudi means "The Land of Temples". The village was found by some cattle rearers during Pallava period in the 11th century. The name is derived from the temples, which it possess from a long time.

Gudipudi is located at coordinates:16°25'7"N   80°21'57"E geographically.

Demography

Telugu is the local language. The village of Gudipudi covers an area of about 1782 hectares. As of 2011 India census, Gudipudi had a population of 5587, with 2783 men and 2804 women living in 1372 houses.[1]

Transport

Gudipudi is connected by road from Sattenapalli - Amaravathi road and connected by train from Guntur - Secunderabad line via Nadikudi junction. There are frequent APSRTC buses from Sattenapalli to Amaravathi via Gudipudi. Apart from this many Autos plying on Gudipudi - Sattenapalli road to facilitate the commuting public. Gudipudi railway station is the nearest railway station where Passenger trains only have halt. Sattenapalli railway station (7 km away from Gudipudi) is the next nearest railway station which has connectivity to Hyderabad, Vijayawada Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Kochin etc.

Agriculture

Most of the people in the village are depends on Agriculture for their livelihood. Rice, Cotton, Chilis are the main crops in the village. The primary source of irrigation is Nagarjuna sagar right bank canal water.
