Guangdong Country Garden School

Guangdong Country Garden School (GCGS,广东碧桂园学校,Guǎngdōng Bìguìyuán Xuéxiào) is a private co-ed boarding international school in Foshan, China. The GCGS serves an area over 33 hectares with more than 4,300 students on campus, from age 3 to 18. Over 700 teacher are teaching there, included 650 Chinese teachers and over 100 foreign teachers.[1]

History

GCGS was founded in 1994, by Shunde Country Garden Group. GCGS added IB programs (International Baccalaureate) in 2001. A-level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) and IGCSE programs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in 2007. The International Foundation Year Program (IFY) in 2008.[2]

Academic reputation

GCGS is a member of International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) School, It also is Guangdong's first-level school, an advanced non-government school of Guangdong province and one of the top 10 private schools in Guangdong.

Some graduates in the International Section from GCGS continue their studies in world famous universities: University of Oxford, Cambridge University and Imperial College of London, the University of California, McGill University, University of Michigan, University of Toronto; Australian National University, University of Melbourne etc.

Some school graduates in the Bilingual Chinese Section attend top Chinese universities: Hong Kong University, Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhongshan University etc. [3]
