Grounded for Life (season 3)

After finding out that Claudia isn't pregnant, Sean quits his job in the subway and buys a bar with Eddie. This is a dream come true for Sean, a financial nightmare for Claudia, and Eddie want to burn it down for insurance money. Meanwhile, Lily and Brad get mistaken for adults by a bartender and take advantage of it by ordering drinks.

Claudia's father, Tony gives Lily his classic Mustang convertible for her birthday, angering Sean, who had always had the car dangled in front of his face. When Sean sneaks the Mustang out to blow off some steam, he loses it in a street race. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Henry discover that Sean is the tooth fairy and use this to try to make some money off Tony.

When Sean and Eddie hire Nicole, an old high school flame of Sean's, as the new bartender, Claudia gets upset. In an attempt to appease Claudia, Sean fires Nicole, until he learns that Eddie has slept with her. Meanwhile, Lily tells Dean she loves him, but he doesn't respond in quite the way she wants.

Terrified by the thought of her behind the wheel, Sean sabotages Lily's driving lessons. Luckily for Lily, Eddie knows a shortcut to getting a licence. Meanwhile, Claudia gets obsessed with an ultra-violent video game after she takes it away from Jimmy and Henry.

Sean loses the respect of Jimmy and Henry when, unable to change a tire, he hides in the backseat under a shawl while Claudia uses her legs to flag down a trucker. Sean tries to win the boys back with a variety of macho stunts. Meanwhile, Brad buys one of Lily's bras from Eddie at a yard sale and uses it to convince guys at school that they're "doing it".

Henry finds a pot plant growing in the backyard and assumes that it's Sean's. Eddie convinces him to stage an intervention rather than call the police. Meanwhile, Brad's scheme to provide jocks at school with clean urine backfires when his asthma medication causes them to test positive for steroids.

After their pregnancy scare, Sean and Claudia decide that the best thing to do is for him to get a vasectomy. After wimping out on the surgery, however, Sean decides that the best thing to do is to lie to Claudia about having gotten the procedure. Meanwhile, Brad asks Lily to tutor him in math. But Brad is actually better at math than she and is just using the sessions to get closer to her.

Jimmy gets caught shoplifting...a lot. Sean spends a day with him, trying to understand what's going on with him, but Jimmy steals again. Eddie, who understands Jimmy - he was the same kind of kid - talks to Jimmy and straightens him out. Meanwhile, Lily is in a panic over what to wear on her first dinner with Dean's parents.

Sean and Claudia make Lily get a job to pay for her ridiculous credit card bill. She quits the job Sean gave her at the Red Boot Pub and gets a job as a secret shopper. Sean is outraged that instead os having a character building job, she's getting paid to be unpleasant to people. The Red Boot Pub gets a bad review in a local paper and Efddie tries in vain to get it recanted.

Claudia gets a new pair of glasses, glasses that Sean finds less than sexy. Sean hides thaen in an attempt to keep her from wearing them to a wedding and they get crushed. Meanwhile, Lily enlists Eddie's in a scheme to get Dean to buy her the perfect, romantic birthday gift. And Brad pretends he's buddying around with Jimmy so he can get close to Lily.

On the night of her sixteenth birthday, Lily decides to make things extra special by losing her virginity with Dean. When things don't feel special with him, Lily finds comfort in the least likely place: Brad. Meanwhile, Eddie thinks he has the perfect hot wings recipe until Jimmy tastes it.

Sean joins the Knights of Hibernia in an attempt to increase business for the bar, which piques Lily's interest in the Knights' Rose of Tralee pageant. The Knights prove to be more than Eddie and Sean bargained for.

In the season finale, Eddie's relationship with Nicole is going along swimmingly, until he learns that Nicole is cheating on another man, Lomax, with him. When Lomax threatens to beat Eddie up, he pretends to be Sean. Meanwhile, Lily and Brad set Walt up on a date with a woman, or so they think.
